It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing away of our two partners Mr Andrzej Ponikiewski, President of the Board of our firm for many years, and Mrs Stanisława Wiesława Chrzanowska, Member of the Board



President Andrzej Ponikiewski was Polish and European Patent Attorney. He was in charge of our Patent Department II dealing with the protection of inventions in the fields of chemistry, biotechnology, electrical engineering, electronics and information technology. 

He graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry at the Gdansk University of Technology. He joined Polservice in 1970.

Mr Ponikiewski was one of the founders of the Polish National Group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) and its President in the years 2001-2012. He was elected Honorary Member of AIPPI for his long-lasting involvement and contribution to the activities of the association.

He participated actively in the organization of numerous Polish and international training courses promoting intellectual property protection.

He died in hospital in Cancun, Mexico on 17 October 2018.

We will remember him as a true gentleman, a high-class professional in his area of activity. In his private life he was passionate about classical music, literature and philately.

It is hard for us to accept such a great loss…


Mrs Stanisława Wiesława Chrzanowska was Member of the Board in our firm for many years.

She was also in charge of the Annuities Department responsible for the maintenance of patents, utility models and industrial designs.

She graduated from PSS and JO in Warsaw.

She joined Polservice in 1973.

Mrs Stanisława Chrzanowska was a Founder Member of Licensing Executives Society Poland (LES Poland) and member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI).

She died unexpectedly on 17 October 2018.

She will be remembered by us as a Person who was demanding of herself and others, yet always kind and ready to help, and a great animal lover.

She will be missed by all…
