Anna Skup, Legal Advisor, Polish Patent and Trademark Attorney in the Trademarks and Legal Team at POLSERVICE, had the pleasure of participating in this year’s event organized by the Polish Patent Office, held on 25–26 November. The conference focused on the new system for the protection of geographical indications – the international event titled “Heritage That Inspires – Geographical Indications, Local Crafts, and Design.”
The event, organized by the Polish Patent Office in cooperation with the European Commission, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and the Polish Institute of Culture and Rural Heritage, brought together experts from Poland and across Europe.
Participants discussed the challenges and opportunities for producers, designers, and the creative sector in the context of the upcoming EU system for the protection of geographical indications, emphasizing the growing importance of authenticity and quality in the European market. The event was accompanied by an exhibition featuring products from 27 EU countries as well as exceptional Polish craft and industrial products.
