Last week, Bartosz Krakowiak, Management Board Member at POLSERVICE Patent and Trademark Attorneys Office, took part in the Virtual Communities series organized by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) at its headquarters in Alicante, Spain. This annual series brings together experts from across Europe to exchange knowledge, develop harmonized practices, and create modern tools that make intellectual property rights more accessible and effective.
As Chairman of the Advisory Panel on Quality at the Polish Patent Office and official representative of ECTA, Bartosz contributed his expertise to discussions on service quality within a group composed of representatives from the EUIPO, the European Patent Office, national IP offices, and user associations.
During the full-day meeting of the Virtual Community on Quality, he shared insights on the users’ perspective regarding cooperation with IP offices, including experiences with the EUIPO’s Stakeholder Quality Assurance Panels (SQAP). Together with Małgorzata Szymańska-Rybak, Director of the Trademark Department at the Polish Patent Office, Bartosz also presented the structure, methodology, and operations of the Advisory Panel on Quality—a pilot initiative launched a year ago and now led by him under the guidance of the Polish Patent Office’s current President, dr. hab. Ewa Skrzydło-Tefelska.
The Virtual Communities series continues to play a vital role in fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among more than 400 experts across 16 communities, strengthening the European IP framework for practitioners and users alike.
