Paweł Wac, Head of the Trademark and Legal Team at POLSERVICE Patent and Trademark Attorneys Office, represented the firm at the 40th Annual MARQUES Conference, held in Lisbon from 22 to 25 September 2026.

The MARQUES Annual Conference is one of the key international events for professionals working in trademark and brand protection. This year’s edition, held under the theme “The Exciting Evolution of Trademarks”, brought together intellectual property professionals from around the world to discuss current developments in trademark law and practice.

The conference program covered a broad range of current topics, including the impact of artificial intelligence, regulatory developments and unconventional trademarks. Sessions also addressed wider challenges shaping the future of trademark protection and brand management.

Paweł Wac has also contributed to the work of the MARQUES Unfair Competition Team. He compiled the Poland section of the team’s latest chart on SROs (self-regulatory organizations), i.e. industry self-regulatory organizations. The chart provides information on such organizations in different countries. The full publication is available to MARQUES members on the Unfair Competition Team’s page.

Participation in the MARQUES Annual Conference provides an opportunity to stay up to date with developments in trademark law and unfair competition, as well as to exchange knowledge and experience with IP professionals from different jurisdictions.

The next, 41st Annual MARQUES Conference will take place in Athens in 2027.
