In recent days, patent attorneys from POLSERVICE Patent and Trademark Attorneys Office have been actively involved in discussions on proposed legislative changes as well as on the quality and reliability of intellectual property proceedings in Poland.
Bartosz Krakowiak, Board Member at POLSERVICE and Chairman of AIPPI Polska, took part in a consultation meeting organized by the Polish Patent Office (Urząd Patentowy Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej). The meeting continued the discussion on the planned amendment to the Industrial Property Law (UDER85), which provides for the possibility of keeping evidence submitted to prove use of a trademark confidential even from the other party to the proceedings.
At the same time, the fifth work cycle of the pilot Advisory Panel on Quality at the Polish Patent Office came to an end. This cycle was devoted to assessing the quality of decisions in patent and utility model invalidation cases, as well as in trademark opposition proceedings.
The work of the Advisory Panel involved:
– Bartosz Krakowiak – Chairman of the Panel, representing AIPPI Polska
– Marta Kawczyńska – Chair of the Supervisory Board at POLSERVICE, representing AIPPI Polska
– Magdalena Augustyniak – member of Patent Team II at POLSERVICE, representing PIRP | Polish Chamber of Patent Attorneys
We are proud that our specialists are making a real contribution to shaping the future of intellectual property law in Poland and beyond.
